PROJECT OVERVIEW
Geotechnical support for a defence and technology hub expansion
Northpoint Geotechnical was appointed by UK Power Networks (UKPN) on behalf of QinetiQ to deliver a Phase 2 intrusive site investigation and interpretive reporting at Cody Technology Park, Farnborough. The project centred on a proposed subterranean containerised structure to house electrified apparatus and infrastructure, supporting the continued growth of this nationally significant aerospace, research, and defence complex.
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS & CHALLENGES

OUR APPROACH & METHODOLOGY
Targeted investigation and detailed interpretive reporting
Exploratory positions – Boreholes drilled to depth within the Camberley Sand Formation.
Groundwater monitoring – Assessed subsurface water conditions to inform design.
Geotechnical testing – In-situ sampling and laboratory analysis to define soil strength and behaviour.
Interpretive reporting – Produced a comprehensive Geotechnical Interpretive Report (GIR) to support safe design of the containerised infrastructure.
