Getting Started
Remediation services is the final stage of your geoenvironmental investigation and is where we can put solutions into action, eliminating risks and hazards.
By this stage, our geoenvironmental consultants are incredibly familiar with your site, plans and objectives, which will be vital in creating a remedial strategy that is suitable for you and your build. We work closely with regulatory authorities such as The Environment Agency, NHBC and local planning authorities across the UK to ensure that our remedial design meets stringent industry standards.
We monitor the progress of our solutions closely – conducting site visits, laboratory testing and other investigations to collect data and evidence on how the risks on your site are being reduced. Once our remedial objectives have been achieved and your site meets all safety and regulatory standards, we’ll create a validation report to satisfy all regulators, agencies and authorities.
Options Appraisal
Using our in-depth knowledge of geoenvironmental engineering, we begin by looking at all of your site’s risks, and assessing what options are available to us. We start by focusing on which solutions would be the most cost-effective and appropriate for your land, and how they can be implemented whilst causing the least disruption to your project as possible.
We recognise that every site is different and your build may have specific needs and requirements. This is all taken into account during the Options Appraisal stage.
Our experts will decide on a cause of action to mitigate the risks and hazards on your site and will look at how to implement them in a way that meets your needs. We’ll be able to advise on expected outcomes and determine the next steps.
Remediation Strategy
Following the objectives outlined in Options Appraisal, we’ll begin by implementing suitable remedies using the latest technology to ensure your site is safe.
Remedial works can include removal of contaminated soil, relocation of soil and rock in certain areas, a treatment designed to detoxify the area and more. Our experts have the knowledge and experience to provide you with an effective solution so that your build can go ahead without issues. We have a wide range of remedial solutions available and, thanks to our extensive experience, there is no problem we haven’t seen before.
Our hazard prevention standards follow the principles of Reduce, Control, Eliminate. We work to reduce risk to the lowest practical level, control hazards through isolation or enclosure and to ultimately eliminate any safety concerns.
Validation
Northpoint has a large portfolio of clients whom we have reduced the risk to the development and achieved the remediation criteria. Therefore, using all information and data collected on-site and through desk study, our validation reports include everything you need to achieve approval from local and regulatory authorities.
Once our solutions have been put into action, we’ll keep meticulous records of all progress in reducing hazards and risks. By monitoring the progress of our Remediation Strategy, through remediation services such as site visits, laboratory testing and additional investigations, we will be able to measure the extent to which our remedial activities have succeeded. These findings will be recorded until we meet our objectives and our reports are sent to regulators.
Once our investigations verify that you have met all environmental and regulatory standards, our verification plan is complete and our findings will form part of your records to satisfy regulatory requirements. Our completed evidence record and report will reference the Phase 1 and 2 Site Investigation, including a summary of risks and hazards. We’ll include evidence of all remediation work that has taken place and the results that have occurred due to our chosen solutions in our remediation statement. This comprehensive report will satisfy regulators and keep your site safe.
